Bhivpuri Waterfall and the soul touching Trek.

Bhivpuri Waterfall and the soul touching Trek
 (03/08/2013)

Another weekend and another memorable outing! Bhivpuri was in my ‘to visit this season list’ since long. We have made plans to go there a number of times, but failed; sometimes due to heavy rain fall outside, sometimes due to overdose of sleep and lazy Saturday mornings. So, this weekend, I put a message at around 2:58 am to Dev and Deepali’s inboxes to make it work and wake up early. Actually I’ve been sleep deprived for a few days, due to so many other reasons. And here we were; all awake in time!!
The three of us, set out from home (Malad) at around 7: 45 am, took fast local from Malad to Dadar at 8:06 am, from Dadar took train to Karjat at 9:05, and reached Karjat at around 11:00 am. From Karjat station, as Dev had got some auto wala’s no. from a friend of him, who visited there few days back, we didn’t have to struggle with, and riding through few bumpy and kacha road, we reached Bhivpuri at around 11:20 am.

The first gesture we all made after reaching there was “WOW!!””, followed by Dev’s expert comment “It isn’t like India; so beautiful and so clean”. And my instant reaction, with tickling happiness penetrating to my heart’s core, if I have one, was my usual Monkey Jumping, following my hearts thumping. LOL

We marched forward, from where the Auto dropped us, towards the waterfall, which was around half kms, I guess. The lush green surrounding; patches of green velvety grasses, cows grazing at a far away smooth and clean hill, was really a treat to our soul. We took the entry pass, which was Rs. 10/- per person and kept walking, enjoying the sight of nature, and people’s calmness and happiness, they were having in there. And to our happiness, there was no problem we would be facing, like Karnala trek, if we got hungry, as small stalls with stocks of eatery were there at every point.

At the lowest point, where the water flowed, were the school children, who were on their Monsoon picnic; Jumping, throwing water at each other, shouting, teasing each other, they were having full fun. Our mission was to go to the first point of the waterfall. On the path, we had a good view of people, at different points along the water path, and enjoying all in their different way; some taking sun bath, sitting comfortably on the rocks at sides or in the middle of the water, some playing with water, and few love birds, showing their affection to each other. The whole surrounding was quite joyful.
We reached our mission number one i.e. the point where the water was falling. As we were three, we decided to go into the fall two at a time, so that one can stay away from water to guard our bags and all. Me and Deepali, were the first to go into it. We walked slowly into the water, holding each other’s hands, trying to keep distance from the other people, as a huge number of boys and girls were already in it, and then we found a rock just at the point below, where the water was actually falling with full thrust and force. We shouted and exhilarated at every point when the water fell on us. The fall was quite big, violent and sudden.

We felt like someone was beating us with full force; though it was forceful, we felt like every bit of muscles in our entire system, head, hands, face, mind, body etc, which had been into a knotty stress and stretch, due to whole weeks’ official frustration, was being loosened away to soothe and relax us, as Deepali called it “water therapy”, and a real therapy it was. This is the kind of happiness I keep searching for, which at the end of the day only Nature provides, and not any worldly thing.

I came out after some times to give Dev a chance; they had fun there, while I enjoyed the view, and after a while Deepali came out to give me another chance. Hmm. We were all out after having fun there for one hour. Then we decided our mission number ‘two’; to go trekking up to the top of the hill, from where water was coming. Before that we dried ourselves a bit, and camped at a clean place, and had our refreshment, which included, slices of Bread butter we got from home, chips and cold drinks which we picked up from Karjat station, followed by  tea, which we couldn’t resist when a man, came with a hot tea pot, selling tea. We asked from him if we could go up to the top of the hill and if yes which path we should follow, as the slop near us, seemed quite steep and slippery. He guided us to go back to the point from where we entered the premises, and from there to take the path following the electricity pole along it. We followed his direction after the refreshment, and then started the exploration to real heaven.

Though one of Dev’s friend from whom he got the Auto Wala’s no. told us not to go there as it’s quite risky place, due to its remoteness and mischief mongers camping there with drinks and all. But once we had made up our mind, we were ready to face any mishappening, for coming back without making it to mission number two, would make our trip half success. And moreover, the velvety green grasses attracted us to forgo all that is risk and miss happening.
We found the point from where we could trek up. Though the upward trek was quite steep, but it was short one, which we made up very easily. We rested there for a while before starting the walk along the beautiful path. Few people were there, looking at us with strange eyes, but we didn’t bother that much. It was like ‘whatever happens will be seen’ let’s keep going.”
We were welcomed at every step of ours by the beautiful songs of wind, which made the green patches of velvety grass dance, forming an enchanting waves, and contrary to that it made our hairs ; mine and Deepali’s dance the ‘Tandav dance’ LOL!! Our hairs made us look hilarious. We kept walking, following the lovely path, and soon, only three of us were there; in another world, I mean in ‘Heaven’, which we keep aspiring for, that sort of heaven making us forget all our worries, for there, only happiness and peace, we felt existed.
The walk through the green patches, of around one kms, from where we started, was quite smooth, and on the way we came across many waterfalls and streams. Happily we reached and touched the point at mission number two. On the top, there was a small village just after crossing one small bridge on the rivulet, the water of which falls down to become source of joy for the large number of fun lovers coming there to have a refreshing monsoon weekend. We kept exploring and admiring the scenery for almost 3-4 hours, and by 4:00 o’clock, after having some refreshment for our stomachs, we made our descend down. We didn’t feel like coming back, but as humans, we cannot always listen to our heart’s call, for we have to go through so many other obligations. But keeping aside all these, at least, we can carry along some refreshing memories, which we always do.
Overall it was a fabulous outing. A-AWESOME!! It was my last outing of this season, as I am going home to Himalayas, to attend my Brother’s marriage, and will be back after one month. There are still more to explore, in and around Mumbai. Till then chill and keep smiling
